Graduation Celebration

On Friday, September 16, four women were honored for their devotion to build a life of hope for their families. Women in the Fellowship Housing program have worked tirelessly to pay off debt, rebuild their credit scores, and prepare for independent living. After two years, these women are stable and financially secure.
“Before finding Fellowship Housing, I was a new single mother to my 3½ month old little boy. I was facing financial troubles and was unable to continue paying rent or any of my other bills. I was struggling to figure out how to simply buy formula to feed my baby,” shared a graduate who was moved to tears. “It was thanks to my case manager that I was able to fully grasp why God led me here. She helped me understand that I wasn’t weak because I needed Fellowship Housing, but instead that I was a strong woman who was doing what it was going to take to better myself and the future for my son.”
This year’s graduation ceremony honored the women’s commitment and successful completion of the program, in the company of their family and friends. Food for the event was provided by Food for Friends, dessert by Sweet Whimsy, flower arrangements and corsages donated by Livvy’s Lilies, and photography for the event by Lori Hendrix Photography. The evening was a true celebration of life change. Though the program is challenging, accountability for all areas of finances and goals, these women have persevered to carve a new life for their children.
After hearing from each of the graduates, a special group of women known as the “Alumni Association” welcomed them into the sisterhood. This group is comprised of past Fellowship Housing women who work to build a support system for the families after graduating from the program. These are joyful, empowered women.
