Kaitlin's Story

The past 6 months have been very stressful for a lot of our moms, and Kaitlin was certainly at the top of that list. With restaurants closing their doors, Kaitlin was laid off from her job as a waitress. While Kaitlin received 2 months free rent through our emergency relief fund, she decided to adapt to the changing times and has done so remarkably well by starting her own business!

Kaitlin has been working hard to get her art career up and running, starting an online shop, and doing many custom paint jobs for private clients. In fact, she has been working on a mural for the new Fellowship Housing office! The mural is still in progress, but you can check it out below. She is extremely gifted and we are excited to share the final product when it's completed! Kaitlin said that while she would not have chosen to get thrown into self-employment this way, it has actually given her the the push she needed to take this bold step; a push which she may not have received if the world had been different this year.

Kaitlin has a several projects already in queue and we are really proud of her! If you'd like to learn more about her art or support her new business, you can check it out on Instagram @swirlypainter or visit her Etsy site. You can shop her art there or even to reach out to commission Kaitlin for your own original mural!
